אָפָא

אָפָאm. (contr. of אַפְעָא q. v.) a striped wild animal (of the genus felis) of which the male (stronger) and the female species are distinguished, corresp. to h. צָבוּע q. v.; leopard, and hyæna striata (striped hyena).
